Experts debate changing name of PTSD (Government Executive)

Could changing the name of post-traumatic stress disorder help soldiers and others seek help and help reduce the stigma? The American Psychiatric Association is thinking about calling it post-traumatic stress injury, The Washington Post reports.

“No 19-year-old kid wants to be told he’s got a disorder,” the newspaper quotes now-retired Army Gen. Peter Chiarelli as saying.Click here to view more
