Project Healing Waters gets injured vets on the water, away from the difficulties of recovery: (ESTES PARK TRAIL-GAZETTE, CO)

Most of a group of nine injured veteran and active service members and a handful of fishing guides there to help them had dispersed across the braids of the Big Thompson River that snake across the expansive meadow in Rocky Mountain National Park. A straggler, Capt. David Folkerts (Ret.), was putting the finishing touches on his fly fishing rig and talking about how he became involved in Project Healing Waters, a non-profit program that helps injured members of the armed services put their lives back together, physically and emotionally, by teaching them to fly fish. click here to view
