Deadline nears for easier VA enrollment: (MILITARY TIMES)

Time is running out for about 180,000 combat veterans, most of whom served in Iraq or Afghanistan, to take advantage of streamlined enrollment into the Veterans Affairs Department health care system.
Combat veterans who were on active duty since Nov. 11, 1989, and left active duty before Jan. 28, 2003, have until Jan. 27 to sign up for veterans health care without having to prove they have a service-connected disability or health problem, or some other reason to be eligible for benefits.
