Army Sgt. Garry Thompson stood in front of his wheelchair with the help of a walker and inched his way up to the airplane ramp as his fellow soldiers walked off. Months ago, Thompson, a Cocoa Beach resident, set a goal of taking a few steps as the troops he served with returned from Afghanistan, where he was critically injured early in their deployment. click here to view
