U. deans envision 'big tent' for veterans: (SALT LAKE CITY TRIBUNE)

An academy for students seeking to devote their lives to national service. A research center focused on one of the most complex public policy issues in America. A national outreach program for people who are often resistant to help. A nonpartisan political think tank. All under one roof? That's what David Rudd and Hiram Chodosh have in mind as the University of Utah announces on Monday the creation of its National Center for Veterans Studies. But the pair -- deans of the U.'s College of Social and Behavioral Science and the S.J. Quinney College of Law, respectively -- insist the center's over-arching mission is quite simple: "It's all about helping veterans," Rudd said. click here to view
