Volunteers gather to build house for injured Middleboro soldier: (BOSTON HERALD)

At least 100 volunteers are in Middleboro this morning for a three-day construction blitz to erect a new home for a local soldier who lost both his legs during his second deployment in Afghanistan. Homes for Our Troops sought out the family of Army Staff Sgt. Michael Downing after seeing news reports about the improvised explosive device that made him a double amputee in September 2008, said founder John Gonsalves. click here to view
