Tarrant County commissioners voted Tuesday to accept a state grant that could, by late January, lead to the opening of the county's first specialized court for defendants who are military veterans. The program would divert offenders charged with nonviolent crimes into treatment for service-related injuries or for illnesses, mental-health problems, or drug and alcohol addictions. click here to view
