467th out of Madison one of eight Reserve combat-stress units: (STATE JOURNAL, WI)

November 10, 2009

The 467th Medical Detachment based in Madison is one of about eight combat-stress units operated by the Army Reserve, said Mike Alesch of McFarland, who retired as commander of the local detachment in 2006....Alesch said the small units are deployed to combat zones often close to the fighting to work with soldiers experiencing stress. "The majority of the unit members are from Wisconsin, but they're from all over the state," said Alesch, the retired supervisor of Dane County's Alternatives to Incarceration Program. "It's a very specialized unit. It's all psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists." click here to view
