My husband is a Marine and is now home an off duty, where I'm very happy that he is. But when he was overseas (both times) I was very lonely and had no where to turn for support. My family was very supportive, but it wasn't the same as wanting to talk to someone that was going through the same thing. I wasn't on base so my resources were non existence. I decided to start a Military Family Support Group in my area. We have meetings every Tuesday at 7:30 until 9:00pm. Since my husbands return I no longer feel so anxious to talk to anyone about my current emotions, but I do have 4 combat tours worth of experience to share.
