My husband is a civilian special agent with the AF and was critically injured by a suicide bomber in Oct 2004. He managed to not only survive a large brain injury, loss of eye, and the many blast wounds, but he recovered so well, like Bob Woodruff, that he could return to work. All of the stories here are so inspirational and at the same time sad for those who are not getting the assistance they need. I know how you feel. We are STILL experiencing issues. Being one of the few government employees injured over there, no one seems to care what happens to them, even though he was serving in the same job as his military counterparts. In his agency, civilians and military do the same job. I advocate for those who are innjured because it can be a nightmare getting through all of the processes. My email address is pheelyne@hotmail.com if anyone ever wishes to talk or just vent or needs help if you or your loved on is hospitalized in the area. Best wishes to all.
