My daughter suffered a brain injury when she was 8 years old (she is now 13). It has been incredible for her to know that others have shared similar experiences as her and that she is not alone. While we are not in the military, we have watched the story of our wounded warriors unfold. And, she has felt particulary connected to Mr. Woodruff. We live outside DC where several friends are in the military. One close friend just went to Afghanistan last week and she told him that she is here for him if he ever needs her.
In an instant, our lives were changed as well. But, she is the inspiration for the entire family.
