Susie D. Owens Daughter
TX United States
Please help. My ex-husband, Walter D. Owens, of Austin-round rock, Texas, was also in the military. He got out to pursue a career in the biomedical engineering and was working as a contractor for general electric in the south Texas area. He was involved in a motorcycle accident on September 16 or 17, 2008. He is presently at St. David's medical center rehab. He is very agitated, has lost a lot of weight and is very confused. Walter is a very intelligent man who is very independent and it has been tremendously painful for him and his loved ones. He has a daughter, Victoria Owens. Although St. David's is doing what they can, I feel that there are better programs, help and support that can help Walter heal. Please write to me. Tell me how you can help us. We need to get him to the proper facility to get Walter better. He feels he is in prison, is not sleeping or eating well. Again please help us.

Try Gaylord rehabilitation center in Wallingford Connecticut I know it's a bit of a haul from Texas but it's one of the best rehabilitation centers in the country. I know this personally I'm also a survivor of a traumatic brain injury and I have been there for rehabilitation myself my name is Craig Sears see my story here on this page or at brainline.org you can also check out the Sarah Jane brain project and check out the national PABI plan and look for the national lead center in Texas and call them they can help lead you in the right direction. Most important never give up
